Immigration Workshops

Any Time On Line

October

  • Thursday October 19, 2017, 3pm to 4pm: Work Authorization for International Students
Location: Stocking Hall, room M 01
ISSO staff will discuss the work authorization process for F1 and J1 students as you get close to graduation as well as options for summer employment while you are still enrolled.
  • Wednesday October 25, 2017: Visas After Graduation (this workshop is held in October and February/March every year)
Goldwin Smith Hall, Lewis Auditorium (Room G76), 7:00-9:00 pm: Presented by Rosanne Mayer and David Wilks, both from the Miller Mayer law firm, and ISSO Staff.
Come find out everything you will need to know about staying in the US after graduation and after your student immigration status. An immigration attorney in the Miller Mayer law firm and ISSO staff will explain the procedures for working immediately after graduating, working long-term in the US and eventually becoming a permanent resident (green card holder) if you so desire. This information is particularly crucial at the present time, given the H1B cap and new backlogs with employment-based green cards.
