  • Tuesday November 14, 2017, 4:30pm: Recent Immigration Trends and Travel Issues for International Students and Scholars
    Location: Uris Hall Auditorium (Room G-01)
    This program will provide an update on various immigration issues including: changes to Temporary Protected Status; the Executive Orders and travel ban; and concerns about travel for all international students and scholars. N ationally recognized immigration expert Steve Yale-Loehr and attorneys from the Ithaca law firm Miller Mayer will present the program along with ISSO Director Brendan O’Brien. This program is open to the general public. .
  • Wednesday November 15, 2017, 3pm to 4pm: Work Authorization for International Students
    Location: Warren Hall, room B-50
    ISSO staff will discuss the work authorization process for F1 and J1 students as you get close to graduation as well as options for summer employment while you are still enrolled.

  • TBA: Visas After Graduation (this workshop is held in October and February/March every year)
    Location and Time TBA: Presented by lawyers from the Miller Mayer immigration law firm, and ISSO Staff.
    Come find out everything you will need to know about staying in the US after graduation and after your student immigration status. An immigration attorney in the Miller Mayer law firm and ISSO staff will explain the procedures for working immediately after graduating, working long-term in the US and eventually becoming a permanent resident (green card holder) if you so desire. This information is particularly crucial at the present time, given the H1B cap and new backlogs with employment-based green cards.
